Who is working on the Penang Bridge?

If you are going to the Prai from Penang Island via Penang Bridge, you are probably as pissed as I am. The traffic jam at the entrance to the bridge from Bayan Lepas and from Tesco is murderous and yet no one was seen to be working on the problem. First of all, where are the workers during the day? Who is supervising this job?

Ok, maybe they work during the night, but if it is not productive enough, change the shift.  It is causing traffic congestions even during weekends, can some one from the state government and the related parties look into this. Seriously, I think you guys are sleeping on your job. Move your heavy butts and solve this problem immediately.

Just imagine, from 4 lanes cramped into 1 lane. How long will be continue and what is the time frame to complete this less than 300 metre job?

  1. Yes, I agree with you on the traffic congestion. Everyday I travel on the cramped traffic on the bridge. But for me the initiatives of the widening finally benefit us as Penangites. At the first place I also think this project burdening the loyal user of Penang Bridge. The lane you mentioned is a killer lane if there any breakdown on it. The initiative been taken on the lane should be thankful because it really a headache. Almost 1 year I been using the main and preferred gateway to Penang Island. If you heading to Prai, after passing the middle span it is a bit relief already by opening third lane at the end bridge. Traffic flow a bit smooth. A big applause for the Management. I can't wait the killer lane from Bayan Lepas to completed. As bridge user, I rather they remain working on the night shift because it involve road closure. It is more convenient. If not the traffic will even become worst during peak. The traffic entering Penang never sleeps. Once more, it is a challenge to work on live traffic which is not greenfield. Stages by stages taken in order to avoid mistakes on live traffic. It is a riskily project. But yet sooner it benefit us back. I think we should be patient. Yes, there is problems and risk to bridge users. But it is better to suffer for 2-3 years rather than forever. Penang Bridge means a lot to Penangites. Economics, tourism, factory, businesses and publics are relying on the main gateway. Could you imagine a day without Penang Bridge?
